Yucaipa Youth Basketball, Inc. (YYB) is a private non-profit organization. 

Please be advised, YYB is not associated or ran by the City of Yucaipa. 

When is registration: 

Registration usually begins in July and ends in September. Completely online. There will be an announcement on the home page when registration is available. 

What are the age limits: 

 Children are drafted to teams by grade, not age.  Our program is from 1st Grade to 8th Grade

What if my child does not have experience: 

No experience is necessary. Players are drafted onto teams by coaches in all levels except 1st and 2nd grade, also known as 1/2 Division. 1/2 grade is evenly divided up into teams and not drafted.

Is a uniform provided:

YYB provides a Jersey for games. Parents supply the basketball shorts, shoes, and a practice ball.

Ball size: 

25.5 Youth = 1/2 division

27.5 Junior = 3/4 division 

28.5 Women = 5/6 Girls & 7/8 Girls Division

29.5 Men's = 5/6 Boys & 7/8 Boy division

How long is the season: 

Practice starts in November after Drafits. Games are played January through March..

Where are games held:

When are the games: 

The season runs for 10 weeks with games Saturday (some games will be Friday nights) usually starting the first week of January. There is a playoff game and championships at the end of regular season which ends usually around mid-March.

What are the size of the teams, will my child play: 

9 player per team is the max.  1/2 division is 10 players max. Every child plays with equal time given on the floor.

What is a ghost team: 

Our program is an all volunteer run program and a "Ghost Team" is one that doesn't have a coach that drafted for the team. When this occurs all efforts are made to find a coach within the parent pool of the team after the draft.

Refunds: 

All refunds will be assessed up to a $25.00 processing fee per player (this amount will be deducted from your refund). Refunds may take up to 30 days to process and will be mailed to the address given or refunded to the provided debit/credit card. NO REFUNDS will be given after Yucaipa Youth Basketball has ordered jerseys for each respective division.

(YYB) is committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for our community’s youth to learn the game of basketball while encouraging individual growth in self-confidence, commitment and integrity, so they may be better prepared for a more productive and successful tomorrow.  Our goal is to teach young athletes the spirit of competition while maintaining discipline and respect for themselves, their peers, coaches, officials, and their community.

This is how we work

Yucaipa Youth Basketball, Inc. (YYB) is completely run by volunteers. 

The board:

We oversee the league in its entirety. The more hands - the easier the load. We need people who have a heart to help make our community a better place for our next generation. It's not always work when you work with a great team. Ask us how you can come aboard today!

The officials:

Part of our program involves training our kids, who may have aged out of our program, and who are interested in learning the skill of officiating to do just that. it is a fun and challenging program that does offer pay but requires mandatory attendance at our training classes, dedication and responsibility. We also warmly welcome any adults who would like to join the team as well.  If you are interested or know someone who is please check out the "Referee Spot" page and the Referee Registration.
